Nepalese Rural Health Award

The Nepalese Rural Health Award (NRHA) is an initiative of the Society of Nepalese Health Professionals in Europe (SNHPE). It will pay tribute to the rural health professionals who have exceptionally contributed to improving rural healthcare in Nepal. The aim of this award is to acknowledge the contributions of the health professionals, individuals, groups, and institutions working tirelessly to improve the health of rural Nepalese communities. The award will be provided every second year with an Award Certificate and an Award Prize of NPR 100,001.00.

The first Nepalese Rural Health Award (NRHA) ceremony will be presented during an award ceremony in Nepal in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Nomination criteria:

  • Nominees can be from any health profession working in rural regions of Nepal.
  • Nominees can be from primary, secondary, and tertiary levels of health institutions and/or academic/medical institutions.
  • Nominees must have worked to improve the health of rural communities in Nepal for at least 10 years.
  • Demonstrate innovative skills, leadership, and passion in their work, and compassion for the patients.
  • Nominee MUST NOT be subject to any conditions, restrictions to practice, or under professional or criminal investigation, or disciplinary processes.

Nomination process:

The process of nominations for the award will be announced during the first quarter of the award year (i.e., in 2025, 2027, 2029, and so on). Nominations could be made online by colleagues or by the nominee themselves. The submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by a committee of experts. The winner will be announced during the fourth quarter of the award year.
